            <p>This fonds comprises three series pertaining to the <orgName ref="orgography.xml#dova1">Department of Veterans Affairs</orgName> and its <orgName ref="orgography.xml#ssvl1">Soldier Settlement and Veterans' Land Act</orgName> branch. Material primarily concerns the Veterans' Land Act, 1942, seized Japanese Canadian farm properties, the transfer of such seized property from the <orgName ref="orgography.xml#cust3">Custodian of Enemy Property</orgName> to the <orgName ref="orgography.xml#ssvl1">Soldier Settlement Board</orgName>, the procedure for obtaining titles to such properties in <placeName ref="placeography.xml#hane1">Haney</placeName> and <placeName ref="placeography.xml#miss1">Mission</placeName> for veterans after their settlements, and the voluntary transfer of property for non–Japanese Canadian veterans.</p>
