<p>Kindly consider this as formal protest against the valuation set as the sale price to The Director, The Veterans' Land Act of my property herein mentioned: <location type="subjectProperty">
                  <placeName type="legalDescription">Municipality of <settlement>Matsqui</settlement> - Lot 7 of the West ½ of the N. W.¼ if Sec. 3, Twp. 14, Map 1930 - District of New Westminster, C. of E. 52136</placeName>
               </location>.</p>
<p>I have no hesitation, whatsoever, in quoting you the valuation I consider just and fair for my property, which was all cleared and in production in Daffodil and Tulip bulbs, as follows:</p>
            <table><row role="data">

<p>The land was all cleared and in good condition as was the Greenhouse which I had just completed, and when I left in <date when="1942-02">February 1942</date> I had seven acres (approximately 300,000) in Daffodil, Tulip and other type bulbs. Had I remained in possession these bulbs would have multiplied to three times this acreage and number.</p>
<p>Would you, therefore, kindly acknowledge receipt of this letter and place same on my file in your Office to be produced as evidence of my dissatisfaction with the sale price of my land aforementioned, as I intend to dispute the matter further when negotiations for settlement can be commenced and completed with your Department.</p>
<p>Furthermore, your attention is also drawn to the fact that no advice, previous to your statement of <date when="1944-07-19">July 19th, 1944</date>, had been received regarding the proposed sale of my land to the Director, The Veterans' Land Act, thereby giving me an earlier opportunity to file this protest.</p>
